Ubicado en Mar del Plata, sobre calle Entre Ríos, casi Alberti, B_8 se inserta en un sector urbano atravesado por un proceso de transformación y consolidación en altura. En un entorno donde conviven distintas escalas, usos y temporalidades, el edificio propone una respuesta contemporánea a los nuevos modos de habitar la ciudad.
El proyecto trabaja sobre una condición híbrida: combina viviendas de uso permanente con unidades capaces de responder a estadías más flexibles y dinámicas. Esta convivencia de temporalidades no se entiende como una contradicción, sino como una oportunidad para construir un edificio adaptable, activo y diverso.
Las unidades se organizan desde una lógica compacta y eficiente, orientada a optimizar el espacio sin resignar calidad de vida. La vivienda se piensa como soporte flexible para distintas formas de uso: habitar, trabajar, descansar o permanecer transitoriamente en la ciudad.
La envolvente adquiere un rol central en la construcción de identidad del proyecto. A través de una trama metálica, el edificio unifica su lectura y construye una presencia reconocible dentro del tejido urbano.
Este sistema no funciona únicamente como recurso expresivo. El treillage actúa como filtro entre interior y exterior, aportando privacidad, profundidad y control visual. La piel del edificio se convierte así en un espesor intermedio entre la vida doméstica y la ciudad.
El co-working y el salón de usos múltiples, ubicados en el nivel superior, amplían las posibilidades del edificio más allá del interior de cada unidad. Estos espacios comunes acompañan nuevas formas de vivir y trabajar, incorporando ámbitos de encuentro, intercambio y apropiación colectiva.
La condición híbrida del proyecto se refuerza en esta superposición de usos: residencia, estadía temporal, trabajo y vida compartida conviven dentro de una misma pieza arquitectónica.
B_8 propone una relación de enriquecimiento mutuo entre arquitectura y ciudad. Hacia el entorno urbano, aporta una fachada activa, profunda y contemporánea; hacia el interior, ofrece privacidad, flexibilidad y espacios comunes de calidad.
Más que resolver un edificio de unidades compactas, el proyecto ensaya una forma actual de habitar Mar del Plata: urbana, adaptable, privada y conectada con la vida de la ciudad.
Located in Mar del Plata, on Entre Ríos Street, near Alberti, B_8 is set within an urban sector undergoing a process of transformation and consolidation in height. In an environment where different scales, uses and temporalities coexist, the building proposes a contemporary response to the new ways of inhabiting the city.
The project works on a hybrid condition: it combines permanent-use dwellings with units capable of responding to more flexible and dynamic stays. This coexistence of temporalities is not understood as a contradiction, but as an opportunity to build an adaptable, active and diverse building.
The units are organised from a compact and efficient logic, oriented towards optimising space without sacrificing quality of life. The dwelling is conceived as a flexible support for different forms of use: dwelling, working, resting or remaining temporarily in the city.
The envelope acquires a central role in the construction of the project's identity. Through a metallic framework, the building unifies its reading and builds a recognisable presence within the urban fabric.
This system does not function solely as an expressive resource. The trelliswork acts as a filter between interior and exterior, contributing privacy, depth and visual control. The building's skin thus becomes an intermediate thickness between domestic life and the city.
The co-working space and multipurpose room, located on the upper level, extend the building's possibilities beyond the interior of each unit. These communal spaces accompany new ways of living and working, incorporating areas for encounter, exchange and collective appropriation.
The hybrid condition of the project is reinforced in this superposition of uses: residence, temporary stay, work and shared life coexist within the same architectural piece.
B_8 proposes a relationship of mutual enrichment between architecture and city. Towards the urban environment, it contributes an active, deep and contemporary facade; towards the interior, it offers privacy, flexibility and quality communal spaces.
More than resolving a building of compact units, the project essays a current way of inhabiting Mar del Plata: urban, adaptable, private and connected to the life of the city.
